Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has been fined $20,000 for his illegal takedown of Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton on Friday, according to source with knowledge of the situation.

In his weekly live chat Monday afternoon, NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt expressed disappointment that Ndamukong Suh hasn’t been more involved in players-only workouts being conducted by his Detroit Lions teammates.

It raised plenty of eyebrows around NFL Network a few months back when Ndamukong Suh said there’s no reason the Lions can’t go 16-0 next season.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a player come from the college game to the pro game and appear like there was no adjustment the way Ndamukong Suh did as a rookie last season.

As far as we’re concerned, Ndamukong Suh didn’t have a difficult transition to the NFL after he was selected second overall pick by the Lions. He registered 66 total tackles, 10.0 sacks, was named the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and was selected first-team All Pro.
