Panthers LB Jon Beason, who missed all of the preseason with a left foot injury, won’t return after suffering what the team called a left ankle injury during the third quarter against the Cardinals.

Veteran LB Jon Beason and the Panthers agreed on a five-year, $50 million contract extension with $25 million guaranteed, according to a league source.
