One freaking day. One more for scouting personnel across the league to figure it out, so to speak. Hopefully the Panthers have, as they’re in the leadoff spot.

Almost there. We’re just two days away from the spring’s biggest sporting event (Stanley Cup, NBA Finals? Ugh.) In a couple more nights we’ll all be seeing how far a certain (iconic?) quarterback falls, if Chan the man (Gailey, of course) is comfortable with an Ivy Leaguer under center, and what the two Johns (Fox and Elway) do in the two-hole.

Three…more…days.

The 2011 NFL Draft is only five days away. So on this Saturday, when you’re sitting around watching “Saved by the Bell” reruns, general managers and scouting personnel around the league are doing everything they can to get ready for D-Day. With five days left, they don’t have much time …

Six Days to Sunday. NFL Films did a documentary special in 1995, but as good as it was, it would be hard pressed to beat the drama and suspense of the six days leading up to the NFL Draft. If only we could be flies on the wall in various scouting departments around the league, where they have six late nights left to work on their draft boards.

Seven. One week. That’s how long until the most meaningful days on the NFL’s spring schedule. Seven, starring Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt, and Morgan Freeman, may be the best thriller ever

Eight is Enough. As bad as that ‘70s TV show was, it can’t be any worse than having to wait any longer for the start of the 2011 NFL Draft. And eight just happens to be the number of days until the draft begins.

Nine Tonight. I’m not sure what Bob Seger was singing about on that tune, but as of this evening, there are just nine more until we get to April 28, day one of the NFL Draft. This svelte number traditionally has meant a lot to many people, from nine lives to Roger Maris (a No. 9), and his 61 home runs.

Ten. It’s more than Bo Derek in 1979. It’s even more than Pearl Jam’s best album. Right now, 10 is how many days we have left on the Path to Primetime. You might be wondering what that number means in the lexicon of the NFL draft.

It’s April in the NFL, which means it’s pretty quiet, except for the fact that one of the coolest weekends of they year, draft weekend, is just 11 days away.

It may not be “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” but it is 12 days until Christmas for a bunch of college kids … the best amateur football players in the country.

Unlucky, that’s what people think of when the number 13 comes to mind. With that many days to go until draft time, how much misfortune is synonymous with 13 in NFL lore… and the draft?
