Three scores for Panthers RB Williams

DeAngelo Williams just scored his third 1-yard touchdown of the afternoon in what’s become a great game in Green Bay. While his yardage total (75 scrimmage) isn’t great, his three scores will make Williams a top fantasy scorer once again.

What has gotten into Heap?

Todd Heap just scored his second touchdown of the afternoon (and the season), this one on a 14-yard pass from Troy Smith. Heap now has five catches for 58 yards and the two scores.

Harbaugh … the new Shanahan?

Mike Shanahan is one of the most feared coaches in fantasy football because of the running back by committee. He might have competition with Ravens coach John Harbaugh.

Ray Rice starts for Ravens

Ray Rice, not Willis McGahee, started for the Ravens in their game against Houston. Also, Daunte Culpepper got the start for the Lions. He threw an interception in his first offensive series.

Tyler Thigpen, fantasy superstar?

Tyler Thigpen just scored on a 37-yard pass from Mark Bradley. Thigpen lined up as a wide receiver and hauled in the pass from Bradley on a trick play. The Coastal Carolina product now has two scores in the first half in what is becoming a blowout over the Buccaneers. Unreal.

Hightower starts over James

In a move that was rumored this week, Tim Hightower got the start ahead of Edgerrin James. The rookie is a great fantasy sleeper against the Rams. Ray Rice started ahead of Willis McGahee, but these two backs are expected to share carries against the Browns. Le’Ron McClain will also see some work out of the backfield.

Browns-Ravens inactives

Browns: WR Donte’ Stallworth, FB Lawrence Vickers, LB Beau Bell, TE Martin Rucker, G Scott Young, S Hamza Abdullah and QB Ken Dorsey (3rd).

McGahee ready for Ravens; Stallworth out for Browns

NFL.com senior writer Steve Wyche reports from Cleveland that Ravens RB Willis McGahee will play against the Browns today despite an ankle injury. McGahee was listed as questionable.

Ravens’ McGahee questionable vs. Browns

Running back Willis McGahee, limited in practice since Thursday with an ankle injury, is listed as questionable on the Ravens’ injury report for Sunday’s game with the Browns.

Ravens-Colts inactives

Ravens inactives: QB Troy Smith (3rd), CB Samari Rolle, S Dawan Landry, DB Fabian Washington, T David Hale, T Adam Terry, WR Marcus Smith, DT Lamar Divens.

McGahee getting healthy for Ravens

It’s more than just good news for the Baltimore Ravens that RB Willis McGahee took part in a full practice on Thursday. McGahee, who has been hit by chest and eye injuries the last two weeks while still trying to fully recover from offseason knee surgery, appears to be as healthy as he has all season.

Fantasy owners will have RB McGahee

NFL Network’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Willis McGahee (chest, questionable) will be active against Tennessee. A Ravens official e-mailed Schefter and said it looks like McGahee will even start. This is a bad matchup for the veteran, but he’ll still be active in countless fantasy leagues. Just don’t expect much in terms of statistical success.

McGahee expected to play for Ravens

The Ravens listed running back Willis McGahee as questionable with a chest injury. But moments ago, a Ravens official emailed that McGahee is a go, and it even looks like he will start. So the Ravens will have one more weapon in their battle against a tough Titans defense.

Ravens RB McGahee banged up vs. Steelers

Ravens RB Willis McGahee missed most of the second half against Pittsburgh with a chest injury.

Westbrook, McGahee both risks this week

A good friend of mine, Anita Marks from 1300 ESPN Radio in Baltimore, is friends with Brian Westbrook.

He sent her a text this morning and said he will be “careful” tonight. That indicates he’ll play (although that’s not in stone), but it doesn’t mean he’ll start. Those decisions are made by coach Andy Reid and the trainers.
