It was a tough day for wide receivers, as Houston’s Andre Johnson, Minnesota’s Bernard Berrian and Indianapolis’ Reggie Wayne all sustained injuries. Johnson and Berrian didn’t return, although Wayne did.
The injury to New York Jets RB Leon Washington is indeed as bad as originally feared. Jets coach Rex Ryan announced in his postgame news conference after Sunday’s 38-0 win over the Raiders that Washington suffered a broken fibula.
The Saints lost starting DT Sedrick Ellis to an undisclosed leg injury during the second quarter against the Dolphins.
Jets RB Leon Washington won’t return to Sunday’s game against the Raiders after sustaining a lower leg injury during the first quarter.
Patriots DE Ty Warren was carted to the locker room during the fourth quarter of the International Series game against the Buccaneers with an ankle injury. He’s questionable to return.
The Colts can breathe a sigh of relief: Reggie Wayne is back in the game.
Falcons RB Jerious Norwood will miss the game against the Cowboys because of a right hip flexor injury he sustained against the Bears last week. FB Ovie Mughelli also will miss the game with a calf injury.
Cowboys WR Roy Williams is active and is expected to start.
Vikings WR Bernard Berrian strained his left hamstring during the second quarter against the Steelers, but his status wasn’t immediately known.
Reggie Wayne, the Colts’ No. 1 receiver, left the game against the Rams with a strained groin and is questionable to return. The Colts already are playing with No. 2 receiver Anthony Gonzalez, who suffered a knee injury in the season opener and still isn’t ready to play.
Takeo Spikes left the 49ers’ game against the Texans with a shoulder strain, but he’s probable to return.
Packers TE Jermichael Finley suffered a knee injury during the first quarter against the Browns and is questionable to return.
Packers rookie OT T.J. Lang likely will make his first NFL start because veteran Chad Clifton is inactive against the Browns with a lingering ankle injury.
The Buffalo Bills downgraded TE Shawn Nelson from doubtful to out for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
Redskins RB Clinton Portis and DT Albert Haynesworth returned to take part in a limited portion of pratice Saturday and are officially listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the Eagles.
