Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday’s season opener against the Rams. Wells didn’t participate in practice Friday and was listed as questionable in the team’s final injury report.

Veteran RB Kevin Smith is inactive for the Lions’ season opener against the Bears while he recovers from a knee injury sustained last season.

Aaron Ross went from doubtful to out after the Giants listed the cornerback as inactive for Sunday’s season opener against the Panthers. Ross was limited in practice because of a foot injury.

Center Jeff Saturday (knee) and LT Charlie Johnson (foot) will be in the lineup for the Colts’ AFC South showdown with the Texans. Both players were listed as questionable for the season opener after not participating in practice Friday.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) and RB Laurence Maroney (thigh) are both inactive for New England’s season opener against the Bengals. Both players were limited in practice this week and listed as questionable in Friday’s injury report.

Browns NT Shaun Rogers, who has been recovering from a broken leg, is active for the season opener at Tampa Bay. The three-time Pro Bowl pick missed the final five games last season after breaking his leg, and he also missed all of training camp and the preseason.

The Raiders decided to hold RB Michael Bush out of Sunday’s season opener against the Titans because of a broken thumb he suffered during the preseason.
