But that board was still at about the 85-foot limit, leading the NFL to evaluate its video-board height standards.

Jerry Jones won’t have to pay to have his massive video screens lifted in the Cowboys’ new stadium. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell ruled Friday, after speaking with the Competition Committee, on how the rules will operate in instances when the ball strikes the boards above the field of play.

There will be a conference call for the league’s Competition Committee to discuss the issue of the massive video screens in Dallas, according to a league source, after they were struck repeatedly by punters in warmups Friday night, and also during the preseason game between Dallas and Tennessee.
