You’ve heard this before, but this is why you always play your studs. Calvin Johnson has led the world this season in being tackled at the 1-yard line. No, seriously. Elias passed along this note before the start of NFL Fantasy Live on Sunday which said Megatron had been tackled at the 1-yard line after four of his catches. And each time, the Lions ran the ball in each time, and did not go to Johnson.
Mike Smith said on “NFL AM” the Falcons playoff failures were a team effort.
While the Pro Bowl is all about having a good time and putting on a good show, don’t think for a second that getting that winner’s share (aproximately, $50,000 for the winning team and $25,000 for the losers, according to the players) isn’t on everyone’s mind.
Eagles fans will be rooting hard this weekend against the Falcons — their team’s opponent on Sunday. But they may cheer for Atlanta TE Tony Gonzalez if he catches at least five passes. That will move Gonzalez past Terrell Owens – not a fan favorite in Philly — for fifth place on the all-time NFL receptions list.

Dave Dameshek will try to be objective despite his Steelers bias, because he is outraged – outraged! – that Ben Roethlisberger showed up Sunday night on NFL Network’s “The Top 100 Players of 2011″ at No. 41. That’s way too low, Dameshek says, and he makes his case in this short bonus podcast.

Buccaneers TE Kellen Winslow took a few minutes during his Friday visit to NFL Network to share thoughts about his coach, his quarterback, his Hall of Fame father — and why he’s misunderstood by the masses.
Unlucky, that’s what people think of when the number 13 comes to mind. With that many days to go until draft time, how much misfortune is synonymous with 13 in NFL lore… and the draft?
Who is the best basketball player in the NFL? Let’s put it to the test.
