In today’s Three and Out: LaMichael James and Terrelle Pryor could be moving out of the Bay Area; Sidney Rice isn’t going anywhere.

Stay put, Matt: When the Raiders said they weren’t committed to Terrelle Pryor, they weren’t kidding. Pryor has been dealing with knee issues, but he’s practicing again as of today … except it’s with the second unit. Matt McGloin has been named Oakland’s starter against Tennessee. The undrafted rookie ambushed the Texans by throwing three scores and no picks. I’ve said this before and will say it again: be extremely cautious about buying in on QBs who have great initial success (ie beginner’s luck). Take Case Keenum as one of many examples — another guy who hit the ground running, set off a fantasy waiver wire stampede, then tapered off as soon as defensive coordinators had some film they could […]

Matt McGloin started his first NFL game for the Oakland Raiders and quickly earned his first That Helps No One award. Read on to learn why.

Sit Stevie: According to a report on the official Bills team site, coach Doug Marrone “(doesn’t) feel good” about Stevie Johnson’s chances of seeing the field in Week 11. Johnson picked up a groin injury last week against the Steelers, but he hasn’t been a consistent fantasy threat when he’s healthy. Stevie seems to have one good week every so often, then lets his owners down more often than not. If you had been banking on him starting this week, you may want to jump on the waiver wire and make other plans. Broken Law: Remember when going into the season, the consensus was BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Giovanni Bernard would split carries until a winner emerged? Bernard went on to […]

In today’s Three and Out: Mike James is hurting; Terrelle Pryor is hurting worse than first thought … and is Ray Rice hurting?

Jones explodes against Jets: Raise your hands if you had Marvin Jones scoring four TDs and rivaling an almost historic day by Megatron? Who can figure out the Jets defense? Ok, his parents can put their hands down. Anyone else? I didn’t think so. If your hand is in the air, your nose is probably growing. Jones had eight receptions on eight targets to go along with his 122 receiving yards and four touchdowns (way to go, Jets secondary!). Every one of those numbers represents a career high for Jones. Had this happened out of nowhere, I’d have been hesitant to trample over my league mates and try picking him up on the waiver wire. But after catching just one […]

In today’s Three and Out: Rob Gronkowski continues to be uncertain for the Patriots; it’s a little more certain that Christian Ponder and Terrelle Pryor won’t play.

In today’s Three and Out: Terrelle Pryor’s status for Week 4 is up in the air while Le’Veon Bell could touch down for the Steelers this week.

Redskins set infamous record: The Lions beat the Redskins yesterday, which was incredibly their first win in Washington since about the time World War II was getting underway. Those of us who thought the Lions stood a chance of winning probably guessed it would be a 45-38 shootout type of final score. It really wasn’t. Detroit won 27-20, and the sad part is that was Washington’s best outing of the season. The Redskins have conceded an astounding 1,464 yards to date this season, which sets an NFL record for worst performance in the history of the league in the first three weeks of the season. Good thing Washington has a few first-round picks they can use to help address the holes […]

Let’s open it up: Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he was too conservative with his playcalling in a 12-7 loss to the Seahawks. Carolina led for a good portion of the game, but they were done in by a late fourth-quarter Seahawks touchdown. Newton had 125 yards and one touchdown, and while he was going against a tough defense, his owners undoubtedly expected more from him. It will certainly be good news if Carolina wants to open up the passing game, although a number of questions exist about which of their WRs would be capable of stepping up. The Panthers travel to Buffalo next week, which may present a decent opportunity for them to rediscover their passing attack. DeAngelo […]

In today’s Three and Out: Robert Griffin III has been cleared, but no word on whether he’ll start Week 1; the Raiders haven’t named a starter — but for a vastly different reason.

In today’s Three and Out: the Texans lose a RB (temporarily) and gain a WR (maybe permanently); Matt Flynn has been named a starter — haven’t we heard that before?

In today’s Three and Out: Mark Sanchez and Brandon Weeden will have to battle for their starting jobs … Matt Flynn apparently won’t.
