One of the biggest 2014 NFL Draft surprises so far on the entire pro day circuit highlighted Montana’s pro day on Tuesday. Linebacker Brock Coyle has risen from obscurity to be a possible late-round draft pick come May. Coyle went and played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and had a good game (registering a tackle for loss). After which, there was some question as to what his speed would be, the result was a pro day workout that was just a little less than sensational. Montana’s pro day was held outdoors in 37-degree temperatures and a slight wind. Representatives from 14 NFL teams were present, and the workout was put together by Tennessee Titans college scout Marv Sunderland. A total […]

LOUISVILLE — Two potential first-round selections in the 2014 NFL Draft worked out at Louisville’s pro day Monday in front of representatives from 30 NFL teams — including the head coaches for the Houston Texans (Bill O’Brien), Jacksonville Jaguars (Gus Bradley), Oakland Raiders (Dennis Allen), Philadelphia Eagles (Chip Kelly) and Tennessee Titans (Ken Whisenhunt). In all, 15 Louisville players took part in the pro day, which was held indoors on FieldTurf. Projected first-rounders Teddy Bridgewater and Calvin Pryor were the main attractions for the approximately 100 NFL coaches and scouts on hand. Teddy Bridgewater, QB (6-foot-2, 208 pounds) — Bridgewater ran the 40-yard dash just once, doing so in 4.79 seconds. Bridgewater’s hands measured 9 1/4 inches. He stood on […]

In today’s Three and Out: The Vikings are looking for a quarterback while the Cowboys QB is getting a bigger job.
Johnson to have surgery: Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson will reportedly undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. It was the same injury Johnson played a bulk of the season with, likely contributing to a season in which he ran for just 1,077 yards — the second-lowest total of his career. It’s with that production and now a knee surgery that the speedy running back heads into free agency. Since he is adamant against taking a pay cut, it’s hard to imagine Johnson returning to Tennessee next season. However, it could be interesting to see how many teams have an interest in the veteran and what role he would potentially fit into. Amendola could be cut: Speculation is […]
