There were two athletes who had notable workouts: Alex Bayer, TE (6-foot-3 7/8, 257 pounds) — Bayer ran the 40-yard dash in 4.77 and 4.78 seconds. He had a 31 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-3 broad jump. He ran the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.42 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.26 seconds. Now that Lovie Smith has taken over as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach, all signs point to Jeff Tedford taking the reigns as the team’s offensive coordinator.
