Ever the fan of expression through his favorite social networking site, Bengals WR Chad Ochocino was at it again on Twitter, instigating an exchange of trash-talking tweets with Bears QB Jay Cutler and DE Alex Brown ahead of Sunday’s matchup in Chicago — and the game is still five days away.

Steve Slaton returned from a temporary benching with a vengeance.

Steve Slaton is in a do-or-die weekend for a lot of fantasy owners.

I would argue that right now — in the 2009 NFL season — is the most challenging time to be a a fantasy owner.

Texans RB Steve Slaton‘s lack of production has led to a lot of rumbling coming out of Houston, including remarks from coach Gary Kubiak earlier in the week that alluded to the team’s interest in then-free-agent RB Cedric Benson over the summer. Now Kubiak is suggesting that Slaton, who has deferred most goal-line and short-yardage situations to Chris Brown, could lose more carries to fifth-year veteran Ryan Moats.

Steve Slaton’s off to a slow start for fantasy owners, but the schedule seems to indicate a change in his fortunes are ahead.

A number of big-name players failed to meet fantasy expectations in Week 1, but don’t get too worried too soon. It’s still just one week!

A few observations from the game between the Saints and Texans, including how Drew Brees is a bonafide candidate for league MVP and Mario Williams is ready to launch his career to a higher level.

HOUSTON — Running back Steve Slaton, who emerged as a surprise rookie sensation in 2008 after joining the Texans as a third-round draft pick from West Virginia, is showing every bit of the tremendous rushing and receiving skills in practice that he displayed last season.

Knowshon Moreno will be the first rookie taken in most fantasy football drafts. But as Michael Fabiano writes, the potential for a committee situation in Denver will keep him from being this season’s Matt Forte.

Considered by many to be too small to be a featured back, Steve Slaton of the Texans proved his critics wrong as a rookie to become a true fantasy football sleeper and establish himself as a legitimate difference maker.

The Raiders haven’t been fantasy relevant for what seems like a long time. But the team made a move in that direction by signing a guy that won’t score many direct fantasy points. The Raiders signed FB Lorenzo Neal in a move that should be viewed as good news for RB Darren McFadden. The move might also give the Ravens a true No. 1 running back.
