I’m excited to be taking in my first live preseason game of the summer tonight in Houston. Sure, it’s only the first tune-up for two largely veteran teams — the Jets and Texans — but there’s constant evaluation going on this time of year, and I will be paying close attention to a few factors, in particular while the starters are around.

Arian Foster will likely end that revolving door at running back for the Texans. Foster lit up the Cowboys for 110 yards and a touchdown to add the exclamation point to the position.
According to a report, Texans rookie RB Ben Tate could be lost for the season with a broken ankle.
We’ve been keeping tabs on the backfield situation in Houston, where Arian Foster, Steve Slaton and Ben Tate are expected to compete for the lead role.
