While Browns coach Eric Mangini is having trouble drawing some of his players to voluntary OTAs, set to begin next week, he’s apparently having no problems getting through to rookie RB Montario Hardesty.

Defensive end Ty Warren is among five Patriots players to open training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Also included on the list is LB Shawn Crable, offensive linemen Mark LeVoir and Rich Ohrnberger, and DL Darryl Richard.

The team also placed CB Shawn Springs and WR Brandon Tate on the active non-football injury list.

Before re-signing with the Dolphins, Jason Taylor was said to have been considering a number of different options, one of which was joining the Patriots. But now that Taylor will be back facing the Patriots and not playing for them, Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald suggests Bill Belichick will likely look in-house to replace OLB Mike Vrabel, who was traded to the Chiefs in the Matt Cassel deal.
