Saints coach Sean Payton updated the status of RB Reggie Bush, who was held out of practice for the second straight day on Thursday because of a knee injury.

A day after leaving practice early to have his right knee examined, Saints DT Sedrick Ellis had surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus and is expected to miss two to four weeks.
