New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan and San Francisco 49ers GM Trent Baalke were among those in attendance for Clemson’s pro day Thursday. All 32 NFL teams were on hand to watch 14 players work out indoors on FieldTurf. Here are some of the key workouts from day: Tajh Boyd, QB: Boyd (6-0 3/4, 221 pounds) kept all of his numbers from the combine. He’s fallen off a little bit in the last few months, but he had a very strong pro day, looking good moving around and completing the ball. I think he improved his draft position and has a good chance to be a second-day pick. Bashaud Breeland, CB: Breeland (5-11 3/8, 188 pounds) supposedly didn’t bring […]

Kubiak sticking with Schaub: When asked about Matt Schaub’s future as Houston’s starter, here’s what head coach Gary Kubiak had to say: “He’s our quarterback,” the coach told reporters on Monday, “I believe in him. He’s a strong kid, but it’s going to be a tough week.” Translation: I really don’t know. This is similar to a dreaded vote of confidence. Kubiak has also criticized Schaub’s ability to audible as well as his decision making ability. Then he went on to blame himself for putting Schaub in bad situations as a coach. The likelihood of sticking with Schaub beyond this season seems very low, but despite the interceptions, his fantasy numbers haven’t been too bad. He’s had 298 or more passing […]

Jets show lukewarm commitment to Smith: By now, you’ve surely heard that Geno Smith will be starting under center for the Jets against the Buccaneers in Week 1. Rex Ryan said the team isn’t committed to Smith beyond the opener. Well, that’s certainly reassuring. Whether the reason behind this decision is because Mark Sanchez’s shoulder is still healing really isn’t relevant. What is relevant is you shouldn’t have either Smith or Sanchez anywhere near your fantasy roster. The Jets offense is a mess from top to bottom, and it’s not easy to envision where their point production will come from. Maybe Smith’s game will evolve and develop after he gains some real in-game experience, but for now, he belongs on […]

The New York Jets have fired their defensive and offensive coordinators. Marcas Grant looks at what this could mean for the team’s fantasy fortunes heading into 2013.
2012. What can we say? The Mayans were obviously wrong. Welcome to week 16, where we saw several records be broken… by kickers! There was also a 50-burger dropped in Green Bay, a real record broken in Detroit, and a heart-warming moment as the cherry on top of a wild Sunday. Let’s get to the unexpected (and expected) for week 16.

If the Mayans are correct, the world will end tomorrow, and if you’ve been paying attention there have been several signs in the 2012 NFL season that the Mayans may have been right after all
Sometimes things go right for you on Monday night. Even for Adam Rank. No, seriously.
Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was lifted during Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals in what might have been the worst game in NFL history, or at least this week. While Greg McElroy led the Jets to a win over the Cardinals, Mark Sanchez was caught furiously scribbling on his clipboard. What could he have possibly been writing? We got a sneak peak with our spy camera.
Has New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow become nothing more than a gimmick to his coaches?
Should New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow been in the game for more than two snaps during their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Can New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow reclaim his fantasy football worth after a bad start to the season?
