The financial meltdown has overshadowed how Hurricane Ike has virtually shut down Houston. The Texans have had engineers into Reliant Stadium to see when — or if — they might be able to play there anytime soon. Chances are yes, but Texans owner Bob McNair said Tuesday he does not know when, though he clearly is hoping it is ready for Houston’s next home game, Oct. 5, against Indianapolis.
With the pending arrival of Hurrican Ike along the Texas Gulf Coast, Sunday’s game between the Texans and Ravens at Houston’s Reliant Stadium has been re-scheduled for Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. ET.
As Hurricane Ike takes aim at the Texas Gulf Coast, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Thursday the league has contingencies in place should the storm impact Sunday’s game between the Texans and Ravens at Houston’s Reliant Stadium.
