Representatives from four NFL teams gathered at Portland State’s pro day on March 12, where a top kicking prospect displayed a strong leg while working out outdoors on FieldTurf.

Portland State had a player selected in the 2011 NFL Draft — tight end Julius Thomas in the fourth round — and the Football Championship Subdivision school could produce another draft pick in late April.

Tight ends coaches from the Jaguars and Steelers were among 14 scouts on hand Wednesday to check out Portland State’s Julius Thomas (6-foot-4 3/8, 248 pounds).
