The 2012 Denver Broncos have the makeup to be the best team that Peyton Manning has ever been a part of. This is not because of their explosive offense, or impressive but rather the emergence of their defense as one of the league’s premier units. In Manning’s days as a Colt, he had a defense that was referred to as a ‘play ahead’ defense. That is not the case in Denver, as this Broncos’ defense is primed for success regardless of the situation. The quarterback position was the missing piece to this team in 2011, and now they have one of the league’s best ever.

When Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick jogged off the field in Thursday’s preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, shaking his hand after hitting it on teammate Jason Kelce‘s helmet, a collective groan echoed from Eagles Nation.
NFL.com and NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones later reported that X-rays taken on Vick’s thumb were negative. The question this week on radio shows and in the blogosphere will be if Vick should sit out next Monday’s matchup with the New England Patriots and how much he should play the rest of the preseason.

Steve Nash is going to play for the Los Angeles Lakers this season after a blockbuster deal this week. Nash’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers comes months after Peyton Manning signed a deal with the Denver Broncos. But Nash’s deal is much more striking considering nobody ever thought they would see a day when Nash was a teammate with Kobe Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers.
So with that in mind, we turned to Twitter on #talkaboutit Friday and asked you to select one NFL legend and a “no way” team for him to finish with, similar to Nash and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Up until this week, I thought competitions involving talented people trying to beat one another in something was about the people actually competing. But it’s not.
