Browns sale puts Weeden, Richardson in precarious position

The impending sale of the Cleveland Browns has put the entire organization in flux, NFL Network’s Steve Wyche said “NFL AM” on Friday.

“The mounting speculation around the league is there will be changes in the front office,” Wyche said, citing an unnamed NFL general manager. “That means Mike Holmgren, the team president, likely will be out and anybody he hired is very vulnerable, that includes (general manager) Tom Heckert and a lot of people in the front office.”

If the Browns draft Weeden, what of McCoy?’s Marc Sessler pondered what, exactly, a decision by the Browns to draft Brandon Weeden would mean for incumbent starter Colt McCoy.

Anointed or not, McCoy is best option for Browns

Even if Mike Holmgren is hesitant to do so, I have no problem anointing Colt McCoy as the Browns’ starting quarterback for next season. Of course, we know it’s not my decision.

Holmgren promised to support Mangini

While Browns president Mike Holmgren admits it will be a challenge to ignore the coaching bug, he’s also made a promise to support head coach Eric Mangini.

Holmgren always looking for QB of the future

Add Mike Holmgren to the list of talent evaluators who left Sam Bradford’s workout Monday impressed with what he saw.

Total Access: Is Bradford-to-Rams a slam dunk?

By all accounts, Sam Bradford had a pretty impressive workout Monday. Is Bradford to the Rams now a foregone conclusion, or could the Rams look into other (trade) options?

Rams’ choice at top of draft just got easier

Sam Bradford completed 39 passes this past season for the Sooners, but that was because of two shoulder injuries. He came out today at his pro day and threw the ball 63 times and only one of them touched the ground. And, trust me, it was because one of the receivers dropped the football.

Browns will host Berry, Haden

With plenty of options at the No. 7 pick in the draft, the Cleveland Browns will host both CB Joe Haden and FS Eric Berry for visits.

Holmgren will consider taking QB in first round

Browns president Mike Holmgren might not be done spinning the QB carousel. Holmgren told reporters Monday that he’ll consider drafting a QB with the team’s No. 7 overall pick and would also consider trading up for one.
