Marshall hosted 22 teams on March 13 for the school’s pro day. Wide receiver coaches from the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles were among those in attendance. A total of seven players worked out, running the 40-yard dash inside on a rubber track while doing jumps outdoors. Aaron Dobson, WR (6-3, 211) — Despite a relatively quiet season for the Thundering Herd, Dobson impressed with the spotlight on during Marshall’s pro day. Pass-rusher Vinny Curry drew observers to Marshall’s pro day, and DE Cam Johnson and CB Chase Minnifield stood out at Virginia’s pro day.
While the workout numbers are certainly an important aspect of the pro day process, sometimes a prospect can really make his mark in the position drills. Such was the case for Marshall RB Darius Marshall. Though his times and measurements weren’t spectacular at Marshall’s pro day, he performed great in position drills.
Marshall and Central Florida held pro day workouts on March 26. The highlight amongst the 11 players who worked out in front of representatives from 12 teams at Central Florida was DB Joe Burnett, who looked sharp in his positional workouts.
