While the San Diego Chargers began their offseason program this past week, much of the focus was on the players not present, as opposed to those in attendance.

Jared Gaither keeps popping up on the rumor mill as one of the restricted free agents who is drawing interest from teams around the league.

Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson has been ruled out of the Week 2 matchup with the Ravens. Tomlinson suffered a sprained right ankle against the Raiders on Monday night, and it has kept him out of practice all week.

The Thursday injury reports have been filed around the league, so we’ll pass along some of the names that caught our attention, including T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Kevin Walter and Pierre Thomas.

San Diego will be without its two-time Pro Bowl OT Marcus McNeill, who is out for the Chargers’ opener against the Panthers with a neck injury, and C Nick Hardwick, who is still recovering from foot surgery.
