Rajin’ Cajuns’ Darryl Surgent a possible free-agent pickup

Representatives from 21 NFL teams were present for Louisiana-Lafayette’s pro day on Monday for a workout that was held in ideal conditions indoors on FieldTurf. Darryl Surgent, WR (5-foot-10, 190 pounds) — Surgent ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 and 4.56 seconds. He had a 39 1/2-inch vertical jump and 11-foot-1 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.28 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.43 seconds. He performed eight lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Surgent is a slot receiver who is also a good return specialist (he had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as well as a punt return for a touchdown for the Ragin’ Cajuns in 2013). Melvin White better suited at safety than cornerback

There were a total of 16 NFL teams represented at Louisiana Lafayette Pro Day on March 28. A total of 14 players worked out Indoors on field-turf that was not in very good condition. There were tears and hashes all over the place. Melvin White CB (6-1 ¼, 203 pounds) – He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 and 4.62 seconds and recorded a 32-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-2 broad jump. He completed the short shuttle drill in 4.53 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.36 seconds. White also recorded 12 strength lifts. He worked out as a cornerback with a notation that his best position is probably safety.

Hamstring hampers Louisiana Lafayette’s Davis

One man was the star of the show at the University of Louisiana Lafayette’s pro day. Representatives from 20 NFL teams saw seven athletes perform, but their gaze was fixed on defensive lineman Hall Davis.
