Lonnie Ballentine of Memphis has ability to make an NFL team

Representatives from 11 NFL teams were present at Memphis’ pro day on March 17, when 12 players worked out outdoors on FieldTurf. Memphis had one player who participated at the NFL Scouting Combine, punter Tom Hornsey. Hornsey (6-foot-3 1/2, 218 pounds) only participated in punting drills at the pro day. Lonnie Ballentine, FS (6-3, 219) — Ballentine ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 and 4.45 seconds. He had a 38-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-5 broad jump. He had a short shuttle time of 4.47 seconds and did the three-cone drill in 7.18 seconds. Ballentine, who has 33-inch arms, performed 18 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press.
