Representatives from 13 NFL teams — including defensive-line coaches from the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins — were on hand Tuesday for Temple’s pro day. Twelve players from Temple, and seven others from area small colleges, worked out indoors on FieldTurf. One player had a noteworthy workout: Levi Brown, DL (6-foot-2 1/8, 310 pounds) — Brown ran the 40-yard dash in 5.22 and 5.23 seconds. He had a 28 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-4 broad jump. Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (ankle) finally practiced on a limited basis on Friday and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Giants.
Taking a quick look around the league at a few of the injuries from the first half of Week 2 games.
The Cardinals had a chance to draft running back Adrian Peterson in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft, but instead chose lineman Levi Brown with the No. 5 overall selection. Not that Cardinals fans need to be reminded as the Vikings travel to Arizona this week. But Brown isn’t Tony Mandarich. And before Cardinals fans become too morose, they should recognize that the Cardinals have already locked up a playoff berth, while the Vikings are fighting off the Bears.
