The Steelers and representatives for safety Troy Polamalu are working hard to beat the team’s deadline to complete a contract extension.

Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley, who says he did not vote in “The Top 100,” told fans he thinks he should have been rated better than his No. 82 overall ranking and that the AFC Champions were underrepresented on the list.

The Steelers listed LB Lawrence Timmons and DE Travis Kirschke as doubtful on the team’s final injury report Saturday, but it’s not looking like either starter will play in Monday night’s game in Denver.

It was a tough day for wide receivers, as Houston’s Andre Johnson, Minnesota’s Bernard Berrian and Indianapolis’ Reggie Wayne all sustained injuries. Johnson and Berrian didn’t return, although Wayne did.

The Steelers placed Lawrence Timmons on the inactive list for tonight’s season opener against the Titans in Pittsburgh, meaning Keyaron Fox, a sixth-year NFL veteran, likely will start at linebacker.
