Lombardi, La Canfora talk coaching upheaval

Monday could set the stage for significant transition around the NFL, with a laundry list of coaches and general managers resting on the hot seat. NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi and Jason La Canfora visited the “NFL GameDay Morning” set on Sunday to share what they’ve heard about the changes to come.

Ferentz likely will stay at Iowa

His name came up in connection to the head-coaching job in Kansas City, and now it apparently can be shot down. Those familiar with Iowa and Kirk Ferentz‘s thinking said Thursday that even if Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli wanted to hire the coach, they don’t think he could.

If Browns land Pioli, Ferentz could jump to NFL

If Cleveland succeeds in hiring New England’s vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli, then one of the names that would vault to the top of the Browns coaching search would be University of Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz.
