The Chiefs and TE Kevin Boss have agreed to terms on a contract for three years and $9 million, a league source said Thursday.

The Chiefs are scheduled to host free-agent TE Kevin Boss for a visit, according a league source.
An era came to an end Tuesday, and a new one began, as Carson Palmer, who spent the first eight years of his career with the Bengals, was traded to the Raiders in exchange for a 2012 first-round pick and 2013 conditional second-rounder.
The Raiders will be without several offensive weapons for their road game against the Bills, as Oakland inactives include WR Jacoby Ford, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR Louis Murphy, and TE Kevin Boss.
The Raiders are optimistic that TE Kevin Boss (knee) and WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (knee) will play on Sunday against the Bills. Both are currently listed as questionable.

Kevin Boss was doubtful and Brandon Jacobs was questionable, so this shouldn’t be a huge surprise. Derrick Ward is a tough start against the motivated Vikings defense that will be missing Pat Williams. Coach Tom Coughlin does want to get some backups, such as David Carr, into the mix. So proceed with caution.
Bernard Berrian was questionable coming into the game, but this is a huge game for the Vikings, so this isn’t much of a surprise.
Maybe it’s the warmth of the dome or the roar of the fans, but Michael Turner loves playing at home. He just scored his third touchdown of the afternoon against the Panthers. He has eight scores at the Georgia Dome.
