Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris announced that RB Derrick Ward will start Sunday against the Giants, his former team, while Cadillac Williams (knee) and Earnest Graham (hamstring) nurse injuries. Williams and Graham both are listed as questionable on the team’s injury report.
When the Giants face the Bucs this weekend, their heralded depth along the defensive line could be short a couple of names — as in Justin Tuck and Chris Canty. On Wednesday, Tuck didn’t back down from his opinion of the play by the Cowboys’ Flozell Adams that caused his injury.
The Giants are preparing to be without defensive linemen Chris Canty and Justin Tuck in Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers, according to league sources..
Giants coach Tom Coughlin didn’t offer much of an update on Monday on his two starters injured in Sunday night’s game — WR Domenik Hixon and DE Justin Tuck.
Giants defensive end Justin Tuck did not take kindly to getting tripped by Dallas offensive lineman Flozell Adams, who was penalized on the play that also left Tuck with an injured shoulder and out for the second half in New York’s 33-31 win.
Giants DE Justin Tuck wasn’t too pleased about injuring his left shoulder after being tripped by Cowboys OT Flozell Adams. “It was bush league,” Tuck told The Associated Press after the Giants’ 33-31 victory at Cowboys Stadium. “He did it a few times, and they (the officials) only called one.”
One of the questions facing the Giants during training camp — as well as the rest of the season — is how they’ll replace former defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Several of the Giants believe they may have even more of an attacking defense this season.
