If DeAngelo Williams is out of action, Jonathan Stewart would be an attractive fantasy option in Week 8.

Vikings QB Brett Favre is in a walking boot and has two fractures in his surgically repaired left ankle, though the ankle injury is not as severe as the fractured ankles of those currently jumping off the Vikings’ bandwagon.

The Panthers announced that QB Matt Moore will be the team’s starter this week (via Twitter). Moore is obviously not a great fantasy option this week, but he does make the team’s other skill position players like RB DeAngelo Williams, RB Jonathan Stewart and WR Steve Smith much better.

Where have you gone, Dwayne Jarrett? I asked because Panthers WR Steve Smith (or Steve Smith South) is down, an possibly out. In other words, his fantasy relevance could be moving further south.

A quick look around the league and players who have been announced, and reported, as starting the season on the physically-unable-to-perform list.

A report indicated the Panthers placed six players on the PUP list on Wednesday, including RB Jonathan Stewart and OT Jeff Otah. Steve Smith, meanwhile, gave no indication on his return from a broken arm.

If Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is on the board in the second half of the first round in fantasy drafts, there’s no reason not to take him.
