Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff, in concert with head coach Mike Smith, has unearthed some gems who have paid big dividends this season.

Falcons defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux was arrested and jailed Thursday night in suburban Atlanta for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Police arrested Babineaux and a male passenger after smelling marijuana during a traffic stop. During a search of the car, police found roughly 40 grams of marijuana.

The Falcons’ Friday injury report listed six starters, including WR Roddy White, who are questionable for Sunday’s game against the Redskins.

The New Orleans Saints have officially ruled out DT Sedrick Ellis for Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons due to a knee injury.

The Atlanta Falcons extended the contracts of wide receiver Michael Jenkins and defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux on Tuesday. Turns out that Jenkins new deal with the Falcons is four years, $20 million. Babineaux’s numbers are five years, $25 million.
