Peyton Manning is dominating Super Bowl week in Indianapolis, and Hall of Fame TE Shannon Sharpe said Monday the Colts must prepare themselves to make an unpopular decision.

The Denver Broncos won’t appreciate the microscope Jim Mora and Brian Billick put the organization under, nor will Rex Ryan like what Mora had to say about the New York Jets’ defense during Monday’s edition of “The Coaches Show Podcast”.

While Tim Tebow supporters eye billboard space in downtown Denver, hoping to propel the former University of Florida star into a starting role, it doesn’t sound like Broncos team executive John Elway is about to make a knee-jerk reaction at quarterback.

When the NFL lockout ends, Super Bowl XLII hero Plaxico Burress can begin his search for a new team in earnest. In the meantime, he’ll make an appearance Thursday at the NFL Network and NFL.com offices to talk about his new ventures with the National Urban League and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

There is no argument that John Elway is the leader in the clubhouse for NFL players who wore No. 7. Even though there is a half-hearted argument given to Ben Roethlisberger. But is the jersey No. 7 the greatest sports number ever? The gang discusses that and Dave gives his view on who wore No. 7 the best — Mickey Mantle or Elway.

Bengals owner MIke Brown won’t trade Carson Palmer, leaving the value of several of the team’s top fantasy wideouts in a state of decline.

Six Days to Sunday. NFL Films did a documentary special in 1995, but as good as it was, it would be hard pressed to beat the drama and suspense of the six days leading up to the NFL Draft. If only we could be flies on the wall in various scouting departments around the league, where they have six late nights left to work on their draft boards.

Seven. One week. That’s how long until the most meaningful days on the NFL’s spring schedule. Seven, starring Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt, and Morgan Freeman, may be the best thriller ever

Based on the current state of things around the NFL, it’s tough to find any news that has major fantasy significance (sigh). So when several coaches and other organizational leaders discussed the state of their teams during the annual Owners Meetings, you can only imagine how quickly I jumped on the information.

A number of teams have quarterback issues, and they will have to decide between drafting a guy like Cam Newton or Blaine Gabbert or trading for a guy like Kevin Kolb. But can you get a good quarterback from another team?

Can’t quite figure out the thinking behind new Broncos coach John Fox making a point to tell reporters Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine that Kyle Orton is his team’s starting quarterback.
