Tampa Bay’s move to fire offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski is more surprising to me than the removal of offensive coordinator Chan Gailey in Kansas City this week, given how recently Jagodzinski was hired and the fact he came in with a new regime.

The Buccaneers announced Thursday that they have dismissed offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski, making him the second offensive coordinator this week to be fired by a rookie head coach. Earlier, Kansas City Chiefs first-year head coach Todd Haley fired veteran offensive coordinator Chan Gailey.

So far, so good for TE Kellen Winslow in Tampa Bay. According to the St. Petersburg Times, Winslow is fitting in well with his new teammates since being acquired in February and will be used extensively under new Bucs offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released five players on Wednesday, a list that included Warrick Dunn and Joey Galloway.
Dunn, 33, was able to make an impact for fantasy leaguers last season, finishing with 47 receptions and 1,116 yards from scrimmage. While his best statistical seasons are in the rearview mirror, Dunn should land with a club that needs a third-down back.

The Buccaneers have hired former Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski as their new offensive coordinator. The move should be a positive one for the fantasy value of Earnest Graham in 2009.

The 49ers have turned to former Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski in their search for a new offensive coordinator, after being turned down by Scott Linehan earlier this week. The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that the 49ers met with Jagodzinski on Tuesday at the Senior Bowl practices in Mobile, Ala.

Despite Boston College threatening to fire its head coach Jeff Jagodzinski if he interviewed for the Jets coaching job, he went ahead and did it anyway. Jagodzinski made his move. Now Boston College gets to make its with the chance to follow up on its threat.

Add Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski to the New York Jets’ list of head-coaching candidates. Jagodzinski is scheduled to interview for the job Tuesday. Two of the leading candidates are Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. The Jets also will interview Brian Billick this week.
