Buccaneers starting QB Brian Griese left Sunday’s 16-13 loss to the Broncos with a right shoulder injury and did not return. Griese was injured midway through the third quarter when he was hit by a blitzing Champ Bailey. He finished 13-of-19 for 88 yards.

Brian Griese injured his shoulder after a hard tackle by Champ Bailey and was forced to leave the Buccaneers-Broncos game. Jeff Garcia came into to replace him.

It turns out that Jeff Garcia has more than a sprained ankle. He now also has a bruised ego.
Garcia believes the Buccaneers are benching him not because of the condition of his ankle, but because of his play. Garcia said Thursday he is healthy enough to play — but he is not scheduled to start. Buccaneers quarterback Brian Griese is.
