Jeff Garcia doesn’t believe he will be back in Tampa Bay after the Buccaneers re-signed fellow QB Luke McCown. Garcia texted the Tampa Tribune and told the newspaper that the team hasn’t reached out to him.

Before he hit the free-agent market, quarterback Luke McCown signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The deal includes a $2.5 million signing bonus and incentives that could boost the value to $14 million.

Jon Gruden‘s firing as the Buccaneers’ head coach last week came as a surprise to those around the league. Gruden has a statue in the team’s training facility, for crying out loud — to honor Tampa Bay’s victory over the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII. So the firing, despite the team’s December collapse, seemed like a surprise. Unless you played for him, of course.
