Luke McCown has been promised a chance to start for the Buccaneers in 2009 according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Jeff Garcia doesn’t believe he will be back in Tampa Bay after the Buccaneers re-signed fellow QB Luke McCown. Garcia texted the Tampa Tribune and told the newspaper that the team hasn’t reached out to him.

Before he hit the free-agent market, quarterback Luke McCown signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The deal includes a $2.5 million signing bonus and incentives that could boost the value to $14 million.
