The 2010 fantasy season is over, and what a strange year it was. Here is a quick look back, and some thoughts for the future.

Quarterback Tom Brady will start Thursday in the Patriots’ Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Detroit Lions. Brady missed practice Tuesday due to a foot injury and was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report.

Lions rookie RB Jahvid Best is expected to play Thursday against the Patriots, but he is still a huge fantasy risk. Best has shown some true grit battling through his turf toe injury, but he has been a pain for fantasy owners wanting to believe in him. Best rushed just three times on Sunday at Dallas for 2 yards.

Pulling in a couple of fantasy thoughts from the Twitterverse:

Here is the list of running backs who are better — fantasy wise — than Bears RB Matt Forte.

Titans QB Vince Young (ankle) is a true game-time decision (a decision that will be brought to you on NFL.com Fantasy LIVE on Sunday morning) against the Dolphins.

The Lions were going to take over the NFC North in 2010 and all of the Lions superstars were going to be huge fantasy performers, too. That lasted about a half. Or long enough for Bears DE Julius Peppers to drive Lions QB Matthew Stafford into the Soldier Field turf.

Remember Lions QB Matthew Stafford? The young signal caller that was going to set the NFL on his ear and become a fantasy stud while leading the Lions to the NFC North title?

Even the greatest of fantasy matchups does not always mean a big payout. And yes, that headline is totally facetious.

Giants RB Brandon Jacobs looked destined for the fantasy wood pile after disappearing in Week 2 and Week 3, but the bruising back has become a fantasy vulture after scoring his second touchdown of the game.

Pierre Thomas was limited in practice on Friday and is considered a game-day decision. Obviously, game-day decisions are terrible for many reasons, which we have discussed before. And Thomas is i no better position than Jahvid Best, Ray Rice or Steven Jackson.
