A 45-year tradition continues Saturday night as three owners will serve as presenters at the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Legendary Dallas Cowboys Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith co-host the 30-minute special “Emmitt Smith’s Road to Canton” on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on NFL Network.

Many people associated with the NFL — past and present — will be in Canton, Ohio, this weekend to witness and/or be a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2010 Induction Ceremony. So will all of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the presenters for the Class of 2010 this week, a group that includes two family members, two coaches, two NFL club owners and a former owner for the seven-member class.

The events unfolding at Saturday’s Hall of Fame news conference are heartwarming.

While his selection to the Pro Football Class of 2010 was a formality Saturday, the enormity of the situation and the emotion involved was still felt by Jerry Rice.

Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, John Randle, Jerry Rice, and Emmitt Smith are the five modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2010.

For the first time ever, the announcement of the 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2010 will be televised on “Pro Football Hall of Fame: Road to Canton” on Friday, Jan. 8 at 4 p.m. ET.
