In calling my first preseason game of the summer I noticed that it takes a little time reacclimating to the booth, the crew and all the elements required to help the broadcast go smoothly. It reminded me of how the coaches and players were using the preseason to iron out wrinkles in their game.

Usama Young was a man without a position after the Saints selected Ohio State CB Malcolm Jenkins 14th overall in the NFL draft. But not any longer. The Times Picayune reports that Young will move to free safety — a position change he welcomes.

One of the NFL’s most sought-after defensive coordinators has a new job. Former Jaguars assistant head coach Gregg Williams agreed Wednesday to become the New Orleans Saints’ defensive coordinator.

Now that Gregg Williams will not return to Jacksonville as the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator, he’s trying to figure out where he will be next season.
The favorite is the Saints, who met with Williams last week. After Williams visited the Saints, he traveled to Green Bay to meet with the Packers over their defensive coordinator job.
