Former Saints coach Jim Haslett has signed a three-year contract to become the Redskins’ defensive coordinator, according to league sources.

Jerry Gray, the Redskins’ secondary coach and someone who interviewed for the head-coaching job earlier this season, is formally interviewing for the defensive coordinator position Tuesday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Blache came to Dan Snyder‘s defense Thursday and said criticism of the struggling team’s owner isn’t warranted.
