In today’s Three and Out: Emmanuel Sanders is staying in Pittburgh, Victor Cruz hasn’t shown up in New York and Peyton Manning is making the best of things in Denver … which is pretty darn good.

Can Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson be trusted in light of his injury revelation?

Happy Friday everybody! I know it was only a four-day week, but somehow it made me more ready for the weekend. That said, let’s hit the ground running here. In the Greene: Sometimes I just can’t help myself with some guys and I draft them when I probably shouldn’t. That said, I’m excited about Shonn Greene this year for the Jets. Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano told reporters Greene was going to surpass 253 attempt this season. Which was already a lot. When you think about how Reggie Bush rebounded with Sparano in Miami, I’m excited about Greene this year. And with quarterbacks like Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, you can understand why the Jets will run the ball a lot […]

With Plaxico Burress searching for a new home, he could end up right back where he started from. The Steelers and Giants are both reportedly interested in his services.

Jim Irsay says he’s willing to welcome back Peyton Manning, but could it create a QB logjam that will frustrate fantasy owners?

I also don’t see Cam Newton as much of a fantasy option, at least not as a rookie. If Newton does beat out Jimmy Clausen for the top spot on Carolina’s depth chart, he’ll be worth a late-round flier in deeper, seasonal leagues. But that’s about the extend of his fantasy value.

A year ago, WR Emmanuel Sanders went from a third-round pick out of SMU to playing in the Super Bowl with the Steelers. While Al Robinson isn’t expected to go quite as high in the draft, the receiver should be a late-round choice and helped solidify his standing with a solid positional workout at SMU’s pro day on Monday.

Ravens WR Anquan Boldin and T.J. Houshmandzadeh both wanted more balls this season, but both had huge drops in the team’s loss to the Steelers. Boldin dropped a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, and Houshmandzadeh dropped a game-preserving pass.
Even after some big-name acquisitions, the Ravens still need help at receiver and especially one who can stretch the field.

The Ravens have jumped out to a 14-point lead with a number of big plays, and the Steelers need to do the same thing here in the second half.

There was a time when SMU produced NFL talent with regularity. While that has waned in recent years, it appears the NFL is taking a closer look again fresh off the university’s first bowl game in 25 years.
