According to published reports, Edgerrin James is expected to be released by the Arizona Cardinals in the offseason.

If that news comes to fruition, it would increase the fantasy value of Tim Hightower. The rookie out of Richmond overtook James on the depth chart at one point during his rookie season before losing the role down the stretch.

An interesting note on the Cardinals running game, which is currently ranked dead last in the league: Without J.J. Arrington in the mix today (knee injury), we may see some more of Edgerrin James. If you haven't been following his travails, he was benched in the seventh game of the season and replaced by Tim Hightower, and since then he has just seven carries for 15 yards. If you want an unlikely hero in this game, he'd be it. James has averaged 105.6 rushing yards per game in the nine games he's played against the Patriots.
