The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to have a shiny, new look in 2009.
The team has released veterans Derrick Brooks, Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard, passed on re-signing Jeff Garcia and added a new offensive weapon in Kellen Winslow. On Monday, the Bucs made their latest move by signing Derrick Ward to a four-year contract.
The deal shakes up the team’s backfield, but it makes the situation clearer for fantasy leaguers.

The Buccaneers have hired former Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski as their new offensive coordinator. The move should be a positive one for the fantasy value of Earnest Graham in 2009.

Gruden has a statue in the team’s training facility, for crying out loud — to honor Tampa Bay’s victory over the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII. So the firing, despite the team’s December collapse, seemed like a surprise. Unless you played for him, of course.

The Buccaneers defeated the Vikings in a key NFC showdown and remained a game behind the division-leading Panthers in the NFC South, but Tampa Bay may have lost two key players for the season in the victory.
