Fantasy feedback tracks the goings-on around the NFL in the final week of the fantasy regular season.

When the Green Bay Packers decided to sport a throwback look that tossed it all the way back to 1929 — back when teams wore leather helmets and league uniform standards were much different than in today’s game — obviously, there were skeptics.

Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, 36, said he plans to play until he’s 40 and that unbeaten Green Bay will “let everybody chase us while we chase something greater.”

Here are a few of my initial observations on the Packers and Steelers after getting a second look at the game during some initial film work on Monday.

Did any of you imagine that Cardinals rookie QB John Skelton was going to have an impact in the fantasy playoffs? Or maybe the fairer question would be to ask if any of you had heard of Skelton prior to this week?

Packers WR Donald Driver told Bill Michaels of WTMJ 620 AM in Milwaukee that he does not expect to play this week against the Cowboys (via Twitter). Driver has been battling a quad injury.

The Titans lost QB Vince Young and WR Kenny Britt to injuries in Week 8, two of the most notable players on the injury radar.

The Packers announced at the beginning of the second half Sunday that WR Donald Driver is doubtful to return to the game against the Jets because of a quadriceps injury.

Packers WR Donald Driver returned to practice on Friday, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Driver was given Thursday off, not a huge surprise for veteran players.

Losing Jermichael Finley is devastating for the Packers. The Packers use Finley all over the field, and he doesn’t need to catch a lot of passes to have an impact on the game.

I might have to consult Dave Dameshek on this, but Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could be a candidate for the fantasy enemies list. Which on one hand seems obscene in that he is the best fantasy quarterback in the business.

Lambeau Field’s not-quite-frozen tundra hosted an intimate crowd of almost 48,000 for the Packers’ Family Night scrimmage Saturday night.

Tom Brady reported to Patriots training camp with the team’s rookies Sunday, according to The Boston Globe. Brady and the Patriots also have begun discussing a contract extension.

Fantasy football is as much about luck as it is about knowledge and skill. Bottom line.
