We’re just 24 days until the biggest day of the year for the best college players in the country, team scouting departments, and all of you draftniks out there. The NFL Draft is right around the corner. Twenty-four days. Know what else 24 reminds us of, besides Kiefer Sutherland wiggin’ out?

Should the Panthers already cut bait on QB Jimmy Clausen? Would this make Clausen the biggest draft bust in Panthers’ history?

Brett Favre headlined a list of big-name players who sustained injuries in Week 13.
Pulling in a couple of fantasy thoughts from the Twitterverse:
The Cowboys let go of coach Wade Phillips and replaced him with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. Confusing for a fantasy enthusiasts, considering how bad the Cowboys’ offense has been this year. This move is akin to firing the bartender and then promoting Charlie Sheen to the position.
NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports that Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will play on Sunday against the Vikings. Good news to those of you finalizing fantasy rosters, considering that the Cowboys will be playing in the afternoon game.
Michael Irvin is the fantasy whisperer. A motivator unlike any other. And if you don’t believe me, look at the production of Roy E. Williams.
After spending a reported $54,896 on dinner for his Dallas Cowboys teammates, how did rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant spend his first NFL bye week? Well, let’s call it a bye weekend, because that’s all the Cowboys really had off. With the newest addition to his family — Dez Bryant Jr., born on June 25 of this year — Bryant said that just being able to spend time with little Dez was all he wanted to do. That and keep healthy.
Eagles QB Michael Vick has easily been the biggest fantasy storyline during the first three weeks of the 2010 fantasy season. Either Vick has saved you from a horrific draft which netted you Brett Favre, Matthew Stafford and Eric Hipple.

Texans WR Andre Johnson is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, but do you think that Johnson is going to sit out a huge matchup against the Cowboys? The Texans are playing in their third Super Bowl in three weeks, and there is no way the team is going on without its best player.

Houshmandzadeh, Tim Hightower, Todd Heap
The Cowboys offensive line will get a boost with the return of linemen Marc Colombo and Kyle Kosier. And not a moment too soon, facing Bears DE Julius Peppers this week, too.
Wade Phillips is still considering whether he’ll use his starters in the Cowboys’ preseason finale against the Dolphins, and is giving special consideration to the status of rookie Dez Bryant.

With all due respect to Pete Townshend and the Who, I won’t be fooled again when it comes to Darren McFadden.
It’s that special time of year when NFL players — some sequestered in remote, spartan college dormitories and hemmed in by curfew — must turn to each other for entertainment, typically at the expense of the team’s rookies.
Dez Bryant was getting around well in a walking book on his right foot and believes his high ankle sprain is healing ahead of schedule.
