Two weeks ago, former LSU WR Demetrius Byrd was just another NFL draft hopeful. But his draft status and football career were put in jeopardy after he was involved in a car accident while on his way to pick up his mom for church.

The Chargers selected LSU WR Demetrius Byrd in the seventh round (225th overall), one week after he was injured in a car accident. The Shreveport Times reports that Byrd has been upgraded from critical to good condition at a Miami hospital.

The LSU Pro Day was held in Baton Rouge on Monday with 24 NFL teams attending, including the entire Saints coaching staff. A total of 15 position coaches attended, including defensive line, offensive line, linebacker and defensive back coaches.
