Patriots QB Tom Brady put a lot of value in the addition of veteran receivers David Patten and Torry Holt.

NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reports that free agent WR Torry Holt has signed a one-year, $1.7 million contracdt with the New England Patriots, according to a league source.

Veteran CB Corey Ivy and WR David Patten were among the 23 players cut by the Browns, who still have one roster spot available.

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora was stationed in Berea, Ohio, at Browns training camp. La Canfora says that while Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson are handling the pressure-packed quarterback competition well, he believes Anderson will be the one roaming the sidelines without a helmet while holding a clipboard when the Browns open their season Sept. 13.
