With 85th Academy Awards happening this weekend, some of the best “true” and fictional stories told on the silver screen from last year will be honored with miniature gold statues of a naked man. What an honor! And with the NFL offseason just starting to ramp up at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this weekend, we thought it’d be fun to take advantage of this down time to look into the future and see what remarkable story-lines we could be in line for next season. Last season featured a number of Hollywood-worthy tales, from the Harbaugh Bowl to the rookie sensations at quarterback to Ray Lewis going out on top and on and on. Below are a few highly speculative […]

Earlier this year, the NFL passed a new rule that allowed teams to place a player on Injured Reserve but not necessarily lose him for the season. Officially, they “designate him for return,” though it’s come to be called “Short-term IR.” It’s a good rule. I like it. If a player gets hurt in Week 1 and can come back by Week 10, why would a team be forced to lose him for the season just to have his roster spot? For the Patriots in the Super Bowl last year, for instance, they could’ve used Dan Koppen, but he’d already been declared out. Yet, he was healthy. So, anyway, it’s worked out. Coaches and teams often find unexpected loopholes or uses […]

John Cena‘s mantra is hustle, loyalty and respect. Well, at least two out of three isn’t bad.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will try to get his dynamic wide receiver the ball as much as possible in the opener.

First up on Revis Island 2012 edition is Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson, Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
In two games last season, Johnson averaged 79.5 yards against the New York Jets’ four-time Pro Bowl cornerback. But against Darrelle Revis, 80 yards sometimes feels like 200.

Everybody wants to find the next A.J. Green or Julio Jones, but Marcas Grant writes that finding the next big fantasy football rookie WR is far from an exact science.

Dustin Keller is the only Jet currently on Radio Row, and with good reason. Most can’t be bothered with 1,000 questions about what went wrong with Gang Green this season.

There’s an art form to getting away with pass interference — offensive or defensive — in the NFL. Essentially, it’s about not being caught.

While a 17th ranked run defense has taken the luster off the Jets’ aura this year, the deterioration of one facet of New York’s defense has prompted fans to ask another question: Is it really that hard to escape from “Revis Island?”

If you’re in the fantasy playoffs, chances are your roster is pretty locked in, but it doesn’t mean there’s no more advice to give – in fact, I can’t believe there’s some things that owners are still ignoring even as we hit Week 15. So in no particular order, here’s what’s on my mind today.

Well that was terrible. Both the game and the ending of my fantasy week. Although it is hard to put this all on Brandon Marshall who had an impressive stat line against Darrelle Revis — 10 receptions for 109 yards. I mean, even desiring anything more than that production against Revis is asking a lot.
