The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Wednesday that the club has released WR Devard Darling and RB Dantrell Savage.

The Chiefs activated WR Dwayne Bowe from the suspended list Saturday, according to the team’s official Web site, meaning he could play Sunday against the Browns.

Chiefs RB Dantrell Savage (ankle) is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Broncos, but the team will have LB Mike Vrabel (knee). Broncos safety Brian Dawkins is active.

The Chiefs placed Kolby Smith on season-ending injured reserve Saturday and promoted rookie Javarris Williams from the practice squad to help bolster their thinned-out backfield.

Looks like Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles will go it alone Sunday against the Broncos, as Kansas City has officially listed backups Kolby Smith (ankle) and Dantrell Savage (ankle) as out and doubtful, respectively.
