Representatives from 23 teams attended Connecticut’s pro day on March 11, including Detroit Lions defensive line coach Kris Kocurek. Twelve players worked out indoors on FieldTurf, including two guys who were at the combine. Yawin Smallwood, LB: Smallwood (6-foot-2 1/8, 242 pounds) was unable to jump at his pro day because of a left hamstring injury. I spoke with him today to see if he was ever able to put in a timed run, and he said no. He did perform position workouts with Kocurek at his pro day, however. Michigan State’s Greg Jones had a lot of buzz entering Senior Bowl practices this week, but he has failed to live up to the hype. He’s way too stiff and struggled during blitz drills.
