As we wrap up Day 1 of the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine, we’ll leave you with a few thoughts (some random), observations and highlights from what we’ve heard.
One of the more interesting interview sessions Thursday was with Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland, who didn’t exactly offer up an endorsement of QB Chad Henne.
Have you ever been to one of those Super Bowl parties where the guests seem to be more interested in the commercials than the actual football game? Because The Black Eyed Peas press conference on Thursday at the media center was very similar to that.
Channing Crowder supplied some fuel for the fire for Dolphins fans, offering up some choice words for those at Sun Life Stadium who voice their displeasure.
The Dolphins announced that QB Chad Henne will start Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
The Rooster is going to get his chance in Miami. The Dolphins will be turning to Tyler Thigpen – the Coastal Carolina Chanticleer — following injuries to the hanging Chads, Pennington and Henne.

Chad Henne, who had already replaced injured starter Chad Pennington, left Sunday’s game against the Titans late during the third quarter with a left knee injury.
Chad Pennington’s run as the Dolphins’ starting QB lasted all of two plays Sunday.
The Dolphins have replaced starting QB Chad Henne with Chad Pennington in what has to be the most lateral, uninspiring move of two main characters with the same first name since Dick Sargent replaced Dick York as Darrin Stephens on “Bewitched” in the late 1960s.
